Mississippi is a state located in Southern United States with name deriving from the Mississippi River, which flows along its western boundary. The state is heavily forested outisde of the Mississippi Delta area, which was cleared for cotton cultivation in the 19th century. The state symbol is the magnolia grandiflora tree and it has a humid subtropical climate with long summers and short, mild winters. The temperature varies little statewide in the summer; however, in winter, the region near Mississippi Sound is significantly warmer than the inland portion of the state. Mississippi is not a top tourist destination in U.S., so equally there aren’t many spa resorts to visit. Determined visitors, of course, will find places to enjoy spa treatments, but one should not count their holidays on spa vacation in Mississippi.
